TVS Motor Company has added a new variant to its electric scooter lineup in India, the iQube S 4.7 kWh. Announced through the company’s official channels in May 2026, the new model slots into the iQube range as a mid-tier option built around a bigger battery pack, a higher top speed, and quicker charging. It is priced from Rs 1,38,142 (ex-showroom, Delhi). For Indian commuters who have been waiting for an electric scooter that closes the range gap with petrol models without jumping to the most expensive variant, this launch is a meaningful step.
About the Vehicle
The iQube S 4.7 kWh sits between the entry-level iQube variants and the range-topping iQube ST in TVS’s electric scooter lineup. It uses the same overall platform as the rest of the iQube family, including a hub-mounted BLDC motor, a tubular frame, and IP67-rated battery protection, but with a larger 4.7 kWh battery pack that replaces the older 3.5 kWh unit in this position of the lineup.
TVS has positioned the variant for family and daily commuter use, aiming at riders who found the smaller-battery iQube variants limiting for longer trips but did not need the top-spec ST model. The scooter is sold alongside two new dual-tone colour options, Magnificence Purple Beige and Harlequin Blue Beige, in addition to the existing Titanium Grey finish.

Market Impact
India’s electric two-wheeler market has matured quickly over the past two years, and range anxiety remains one of the biggest reasons buyers hesitate to switch from petrol scooters. By offering a 175 km claimed range at a price below its flagship ST variant, TVS is targeting exactly that hesitation, giving buyers a middle option instead of forcing a choice between a shorter-range scooter and the most expensive model in the range.
The timing also matters. Rivals such as Ather, Bajaj Chetak, Ola Electric, and Hero Vida have all been expanding their own mid-range offerings through 2026, and Yamaha and Suzuki are preparing to enter the electric scooter segment in India as well. A more capable mid-tier iQube gives TVS a stronger answer to that competition without disturbing the pricing of its entry-level and top-end models.
Company Background
TVS Motor Company is one of India’s largest two-wheeler and three-wheeler manufacturers, headquartered in Chennai and part of the TVS Group. The iQube, first launched in 2020, was one of the earliest mainstream electric scooters from a legacy Indian manufacturer and has since grown into a multi-variant lineup sold through TVS’s dealer network of more than 2,800 outlets across over 1,000 Indian cities. TVS has said that cumulative iQube production has crossed the one-million-unit mark, making it one of the most widely sold electric scooters in the country.
